Ross Johnston has worked in the Australian music industry as a producer, composer, musician, musical director, manager and performer. In 2003 Ross won an IF award for composing and producing the music for the motion picture Getting Square. Other film credits include Soul Sucker, Johnny Gets the Blues and Eating Cake. More recently You Only Live Twice: the Incredibly True Story of the Hughes Family and Charles Blackman and Imprint in Time.
Ross has produced and co-composed one platinum and two gold records for the band Machine Gun Fellatio. He was a co-founder and performed in the band for eight years, which involved co-managing for live performances around Australia and the world. He performs regularly with techno country band The Outer Space Cowboys, techno cabaret act Champagne Shoes, psycho billy duet White Knuckle Fever, performance artists Biffo’s Blow Up Bonanza and indie rock sensations The Mumps. He is the very important other half of Anita Douche's act in Six Quick Quicks, Liver Ouchie.
